As is the way of things at a newspaper, May was a rather varied month. It’s been a tumultuous month as well in many respects, a bunch of stuff coming to a head. I can look back and catch a glimpse of where I was a month ago, and watch the roller coaster ride play out to bring me to today. I think some growth has come over the past several weeks, but it was hard fought for what may end up being mere inches. I’m still holding on to parts of my past–an idea that doesn’t sit well with me–and prying my own fingers loose is proving a formidable challenge. As I step off, take that leap of faith, it seems I’m my own enemy–slowing myself down, distracting myself. I think I need to kick my ass a little bit to get back in shape.
And here’s a few photos from the month:
The awesome plaid wallpaper in a car salesman’s office.
Bike to Work Day, or in other words, the newspaper paying me to bike through SLC with a camera on my shoulder.
State Democratic Party convention.
Fancyhouse. Owner didn’t want to be photographed, had to make due.
A mother being comforted by friends and neighbors after a house fire killed one of her children.
Marine homecoming.
Breast cancer survivors at a Race for the Cure in SLC.
